A few steps so Life sucks...less

Dear ELEVATED Ones,

K here, & today is definitely a great day to have a great day.  While most everything you are seeing or listening to is probably trying to sell something you can buy, we are exploring our core purpose—Being Divine! Have you ever seen a show where a woman takes a bite of food & in a very ‘high society’ voice says, “Darling, it’s absolutely divine!”? Yeah, like that.  Just instead of it being food, jewelry or a travel destination, being divine is all about recognizing the greatness within yourself & others. It’s about understanding that there’s a wonderful sacred power in all of us. Think of life giving sun, shining brightly in the sky—warm, comforting, & full of light. That’s you being divine!

Do you remember, being divine in September

September is a time of change—the leaves start to turn, the air gets a little cooler, & we begin to reflect on the year so far. Labor day is tomorrow, & if there is any work to celebrate, it is the Great Work. Embracing change with grace & seeing the beauty within & in everything around us. Tapping into the special light within us & letting it shine brightly for others to see. Fully living; energized, virtuous, thriving & grateful!

Cultural Examples of Being Divine This Year

We’ve witnessed people being divine in so many ways. Think about the way communities came together on the ground amidst bombings & attacks in the world over. We are in the early stages of World War III & logical atrocities are occurring more & more frequently. Already we’ve witnessed people share what they had, gave their time, & showed kindness, even when things were hardest. That’s divine! There are the artists, musicians, & writers who created works that uplifted the most depressed spirit. They tapped into something deep & powerful to bring joy & hope to others. The expression & evidence of being divine is often about sharing our inner light & making the world a better place.

Divine Middle-Aged Americans

Let’s talk about being divine in our everyday lives, especially if you’re in your 40s or 50s. We have lived in two centuries & two millenia. We have grown from drinking from water hoses & having no microwave in the home to carrying bottles with filters built in & whole meals that aren’t even real food being ready in 5 minutes or less. We’ve seen beacons of inspiration & unity be discredited for years & even demonized post death like Micheal Jackson. We’ve also seen judges & politicians accused of similar & even more disgusting acts, some in live trials, be elected & rewarded. It is enough to make one wonder what’s the point of trying. Being divine begins with finding peace in who you are & the life you’ve built. It’s about recognizing the wisdom & strength you’ve gained over the years & using it to guide yourself & others. If you are constricted by the stresses, confusion & injustices before us, you are in for a difficult journey. Being divine might look like showing patience & love to your family, offering a helping hand to someone in need, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the beauty in your life. The clarity & kindness it takes to live these things out begins with peace within.

A member of our community encouraged me to share a bit of his story.  After years of working hard to get his healthcare business profitable, Covid19 came in & he had to close doors. His mother had passed the year before & being stuck in the house, he began to drink more, gained weight & had much more conflict with his wife.  After conversations with people like me, he decided to spend time volunteering at a local testing site. He said that helping others brought him a sense of peace & fulfillment that he hadn’t felt before. He discovered that by giving his time & care, he was tapping into something divine within himself—a sense of purpose & connection that went beyond just his own needs. He began to monitor his drinking & eating habits & started a home workout routine. Things drastically improved with his wife & he had an idea for a unique type of medical test that has helped thousands since. That’s what being divine can look like—finding joy within leading to giving, loving, & being present for others.

Tips for Being Divine This September

  1. Practice Kindness: Small acts of kindness can have a big impact. Smile! On the phone, when driving alone & at someone you don’t know. Lend a helping hand, or say a kind word as often as you can. Feed your body & mind things that are good & stop puting int things that are harmful (you know!). Intentionally speak to yourself & others in a pleasant tone using pleasant words & phrases. These actions help you connect with the divine within yourself and others.

  2. Embrace Peace: Take time each day to cultivate peace & calm. Box breathing, the Wim Hof technique, or, one of my favorite, Coherent Heart breathing are excellent activities to start doing daily.  Prayer, meditation, or just sitting quietly are great additions. Joining these activities with being in nature at sunrise & sunset can supercharge the process & help you stay connected to the divine energy that’s always with you.

  3. Show Gratitude: Being thankful is key to being divine. Take a moment each day to reflect on the blessings in your life and express your gratitude. Journaling can help to streamline your gratitude practice. We have a journal we are making available if you need a guide in hand that will walk with you into consistency.

  4. Help Others: Look for ways to support those around you. Whether it’s through volunteering, offering a listening ear, or simply being there when someone needs you. Helping others is a powerful way to express the divine within.

  5. Celebrate Life: Find joy in the little things—a beautiful sunset, a warm cup of tea, or a laugh with a friend. Give thanks for & acknowledge the small wins we experience everyday…like clean water or seeing our children smile. Celebrate the divine moments that make life special.

Thank you for being part of our ELEVATED community. Let’s make September a month where we all embrace our divine nature, shining our light brightly & inspiring those around us.

Best & Better,

K
